BPH, also known as an enlarged prostate, is a condition where the prostate and the surrounding tissue expands.

Dr. Nathan Littlejohn, Urologist, explains the symptoms of BPH, or benign prostatic hyperplasia.

"Symptoms of BPH include frequency, urgency, a weak stream, having to go to the bathroom at nighttime, hesitancy, pushing to urinate, intermittency where it starts and stops on you," said Dr. Littlejohn.

The diagnosis is based on an exam and symptoms.

Dr. Littlejohn said treatment begins with conservative management, like avoiding different factors, fluids that worsen the symptoms.

"After that we talk about medications that are options. After medication, we have certain procedures that we do," said Dr. Littlejohn.
