CHI St. Vincent offers some of the most advanced treatments available for brain tumors. However, you must first recognize the symptoms so that you know when to seek treatment. Dr. Ali Krisht describes symptoms that indicate you need to be seen by a physician.

"How brain tumors present, it depends on their location. You can have weakness or numbness on one side of the body, your balance is off when walking, double vision or visual loss," Dr. Krisht said.

He also said someone could be more forgetful.

When the family notices something is different, seek medical attention to get a scan to rule out a brain tumor as a possibility.

"If you go to the right place with the physicians with the right experience, there's hope even for the worst types of brain tumor," said Dr. Krisht.
