Prioritizing Vascular Health and Care for the Heart

As the state’s largest and most diverse network of heart specialists, the CHI St. Vincent Heart Institute is proud to use the latest treatments and technology for all forms of heart and vascular disease. Vascular disease includes any condition that affects the circulatory system, such as diseases of the arteries, veins and lymph vessels.

“The major highways of blood flow get blocked off and people become dependent on the backroads, if you will,” said CHI St. Vincent vascular surgeon Dr. Steven Meadors. “But we all know getting from point A to point B is a lot harder on the backroads.”

Providing comprehensive care to patients, Dr. Steven Meadors works alongside the team of cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons at the CHI St. Vincent Heart Institute, including his father, cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Frederick Meadors.

“This meeting of the earlier generation with the current generation has really been a positive thing for us and for our patients,” said Dr. Frederick Meadors. “We’re treating more and more patients with aortic stenosis with new technology, and that’s been exciting, especially for the more elderly.”

Dr. Steven Meadors and Dr. Fred Meadors are part of the team of specialists at the CHI St. Vincent Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic in Little Rock, which performs elective and emergency surgery for heart valve disease, aortic aneurysm, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, heart attack, congestive heart failure and other less common conditions.
