Dr. Thurston Bauer Explains How Clinical Research Will Benefit Arkansans With Cutting Edge Treatments

Dr. Thurston Bauer joined Good Morning Arkansas to talk about the latest clinical research that CHI St. Vincent Heart Institute is doing.

CHI St. Vincent Heart Institute is collaborating with Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based Penn Medicine to accelerate high-priority clinical research efforts related to heart surgery and implement novel approaches into surgical practice. The seven-year initiative, which is funded by a grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), is part of the Cardiothoracic Surgical Trials Network (CTSN) Linked Clinical Research Centers project.

"I've always been interested in in clinical research. You know, I really want to answer the questions that most doctors have and I want to be a part of contributing back to the the medical fund of knowledge. I'm just so excited that this is going to really bring cutting-edge therapy to Arkansas."
