“The WATCHMAN is an umbrella-shaped device that closes off the pouch. The heart covers it with its own lining. And once it’s covered, then you can no longer form blood clots. So you don’t need to take blood thinner again,” says Prabhat Hebbar, M.D., an electrophysiologist with our Heart Clinics.
