CHI St. Vincent Updates Visitation Policy
CHI St. Vincent has expanded visitation policies at hospitals across the ministry to allow more than one visitor a day, overnight stays and additional visitation related to certain procedures. The change in policy follows a steady decrease in the number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 and declining positive community test results. CHI St. Vincent patients will still be limited to one visitor at a time and patients not being treated in the ICU will be allowed one overnight visitor.
Additional visitation guidelines include:
–Patients undergoing surgery may have one visitor during pre-op.
–Visitors accompanying Emergency Room patients will be required to wait in their vehicle until the patient receives a room assignment. A visitor may accompany the patient to their exam room.
–Visitors may bring food into the hospital, but deliveries from restaurant establishments will not be permitted. Hospital cafeterias are open to visitors.
All visitors to CHI St. Vincent hospitals will be required to enter through the Front Entrance, undergo a temperature screening upon entrance and adhere to existing safety precautions, including universal masking policies with a hospital approved mask. Situations that would require more than one visitor at a time will be evaluated on a case by case basis. No visitors under 18 will be admitted. No visitors will be allowed for patients who test positive for COVID-19.
CHI St. Vincent hospitals resumed limited visitation for patients in May in accordance with recommendations from the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) and an ongoing effort by our healing ministry to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our patients, visitors and healthcare staff. CHI St. Vincent continues to coordinate with ADH and will consider adjustments to the current visitation policy as conditions change.
