CHI St. Vincent Receives Silver Quality Achievement
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (June 1, 2016) -- CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Silver Quality Achievement Award, which recognizes the hospital’s commitment and success in ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines.
To receive the Silver Quality Achievement award, hospitals must achieve 85 percent or higher adherence to all Get With The Guidelines-Stroke achievement indicators for one calendar year.
CHI St Vincent Hot Springs team members received the Bronze Quality Achievement Award last year.
“I am especially excited to accept this award on behalf of the staff members at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs,” said Anthony Houston, FACHE, president of the hospital. “The quality measures implemented by our staff members are saving patients’ lives.”
These Get with the Guidelines quality measures are designed to help hospital teams provide the most up-to-date, evidence-based care to speed recovery and reducing death and disability for stroke patients.
The measures focus on appropriate use of medications such as clot-busting and anti-clotting drugs, blood thinners and cholesterol-reducing drugs, preventive action for deep vein thrombosis and smoking cessation counseling.
