  • IV Nutrition – 2 weeks
  • Orientation – 6 weeks
Required Longitudinal LEs:
  • Hospital Pharmacy Practice – 12 months
  • Medication Safety – 12 months
  • Pharmacy Administration – 11 months
  • Research Project - 11 months
  • Teaching and Presentations – 12 months
3 Electives (3-4 weeks for a total of 10 weeks) of Resident's Choice:
  • Advanced Cardiology
  • Emergency Medicine II
  • Infectious Diseases
  • Internal Medicine II
  • Managed Care / Populations Health (Arkansas Health Network)
  • Oncology Operations
  • Pulmonary Critical Care
  • Transitions of Care
  • Other elective learning experiences may be developed based on resident interest and availability of preceptor and patient type
Learning experiences are sequenced based on the results of the resident’s interest and self-evaluation form.     No more than one-third of the twelve-month PGY1 pharmacy residency program deals with a specific patient disease state and population (e.g., critical care, cardiology).  Residents must spend two thirds or more of the program in direct patient care activities.

Staffing Requirements (Hospital Pharmacy Practice LE):

Evenings: 1 evening a week
Weekends: Every 4th Weekend
Major Holidays Required:  Memorial Day and Labor Day
