Tangela Harris-McClendo Trains for Health After Open Heart Surgery
Tangela Harris-McClendon had mitral valve repair surgery in September 2016. After surgery, her doctors recommended she go through cardiac rehabilitation.
Cardiac rehabilitation is a program specially designed to help heart patients regain their strength after surgery in a medically supervised atmosphere where abnormalities in heart rate and rhythm can be detected.
When Tangela first began the program she could barely walk for five minutes, but now that she is tackling her 31st session, she can workout on just about every machine in the room!
