CHI St. Vincent Appoints Dr. Joshua Keithley as Chief Medical Officer in Hot Springs

CHI St. Vincent, a leading regional health network serving Central and Southwest Arkansas, announces the promotion of Dr. Joshua Keithley to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs’ Chief Medical Officer.

In his new role, Keithley will provide comprehensive organizational strategy and oversight for all physician providers. He will report directly to Dr. Garrett Lewis, Market Chief Medical Officer, and secondarily to Crystal Bohannan, CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs President.

“Dr. Keithley brings an exceptional blend of expertise and genuine compassion to our team,” Bohannan said. “His proven track record of caring for patients and their families, along with his innovative initiatives to enhance patient care, make him the perfect fit for this role. We are thrilled to welcome him into this new chapter of leadership.”

In the past 10 years, Keithley has served in multiple capacities at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, including most recently as Director of Emergency Services. His efforts have led to improved operational efficiency, high associate engagement and the successful execution of large-scale initiatives while ensuring the continued delivery of the highest quality of care to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs patients and families.

Before serving as Director of Emergency Services, Keithley was Chief of Medicine for CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, where he facilitated key leadership decisions, developed and monitored provider credentialing, and led new initiatives for physicians. He has also served as an Attending Emergency Physician and Adjunct Clinical Preceptor.

Keithley earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia State University and his Doctor of Medicine from Emory University School of Medicine, followed by a residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. He is board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Keithley serves as President of the Arkansas chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians. As a veteran, he previously served as a U.S. Army National Guard Infantry Squad Leader, serving as the de facto “Doc” for his platoon, a role that ultimately steered him toward a lifelong career in medicine.
